Anetrice Strobles-Brown on her fascination with language, how she became a sensory scientist, and why sensory lexicons are important in the food and beverage industry. This talk was recorded at #RecoDublin in June 2016.

Anetrice has 20 years of experience working in the food industry with 16 of those years focusing on Sensory and Product Guidance. Currently she is the Global Sensory Manager for Mars Drinks responsible for setting and implementing her department’s global sensory strategy for products and technology.
In addition to Mars Drinks, she has worked as the North American Conformance Manager for Mars Chocolate with responsibility for multiple billion dollar brands such as: Snickers®, Dove®, Twix® and M&Ms®. Prior to working at Mars she was a research scientist at Campbell Soup Company for 10 years where she worked on food products ranging from soup, broth, salsa, beverages, crackers and simple meals.
Anetrice’s experience includes Qualitative and Quantitative Sensory Consumer Research, Front End Innovation, Product Optimization, New Product Development, Product Maintenance, Auditing Procedures, Training Methodologies, Best Practice Protocol Development and Risk Assessments to drive consumer insights throughout the product life cycle.
Anetrice is a graduate of Florida State University with a degree in Food and Nutrition. She also holds a sensory certification from University of California, Davis and an MBA from Saint Joseph’s University. Anetrice enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, reading and outdoor sports.
