SCAA Job Opportunity: Account Manager, Professional Development

SCAA Professional Development encompasses several programs and services related to education in the coffee industry. Upon joining our team, the Account Manager will work collaboratively within all SCAA Departments and with Members and Member Companies. The Account Manager position is based at the SCAA Headquarters in Santa Ana, CA. For exceptionally qualified candidates, SCAA will allow a grace period up to 6 months for relocation to the Santa Ana area, although no reimbursement for expenses related to relocation will be provided. This position will report to SCAA’s Director of Professional Development.

Essential Functions
• Identify and grow opportunities within SCAA Professional Development Programs including the SCAA Campus network, SCAA Specialized Instructors, and private corporate partnerships
• Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with SCAA Campuses, SCAA Specialized Instructors, and private corporate partnerships with member companies
• Empower SCAA Instructors and Campuses to achieve their individual goals
• Actively build trust and opportunities for participants in SCAA programs
• Meet revenue targets established in departmental budget and report progress systematically
• Effectively communicate program details to audience through collaboration with Marketing department and individual interaction
• Track SCAA Campuses in SCAA’s online CRM/Database
• Assist in responding to web and phone inquiries about educational Pathways as volume dictates
• Assess program needs, develop action plans, execute as needed
• Communicate effectively with Director of Professional Development, Pro Dev staff, and through cross-functional teams in other departments
• Develop knowledge and skills related to coffee and professional workplace education including current trends
• Use company and industry resources wisely to consistently deliver outstanding service to members
• Interface as primary point of contact with specific SCAA Committees
• Cross departmental and intra-departmental projects as assigned by Director of Professional Development

• Effective use of web-based productivity tools, such as Dropbox or Trello
• Ability to differentiate between priority and melodrama
• SCAA Instructor Credential through the SCAA Instructor Development Program required; SCAA Specialized Instructor preferred
• Completion of SCAA Pathway programs preferred
