Coffee Lifeline Wins 2010 Sustainability Award!

The 2010 Sustainability Award goes to Coffee Lifeline, a radio communications project that provides essential information and educational programming to coffee farmers, their families and the communities in which they live. The long term goal of Coffee Lifeline is to link coffee farmers around the world through the use of sustainable, self-powered radio technology and the weekly broadcast of a globally transmitted “World Café” program that will offer formerly isolated communities the opportunity to share their technical expertise, environmental wisdom and cultural heritage that continues to enrich all of our lives. In 2003, the Sustainability Council of the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) created the award to promote, encourage and honor the efforts of those serving as role models in the fields of sustainability. To learn more about the award and its recipient, we encourage you to attend the lecture on Sunday morning, April 18, at SCAA’s Exposition in Anaheim: Innovations in Sustainability.
